Here's what you'll need:
- 1 apple (red or green)
- 3 1/2 tablespoon gluten-free oats
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (I like to use Agave Nectar or Manuka Honey)
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for sprinkling
Once you've got all your ingredients together, preheat the over to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cut the apple in half & core out the middle.
In a small bowl, mix together oats, maple syrup, brown sugar, & cinnamon.
Divide mixture evenly among the apple halves, placing in the center.
Place apple halves on a baking sheet – cut side up, sprinkle with a little cinnamon & bake for 25-35 minutes.
Remove & serve with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream – regular or dairy-free - (I like to use vanilla coconut ice cream).
Hope you enjoy making this tasty treat!!
PS. Your kitchen will smell amazing when the apples are baking ;)
